Sale!

Well I finally put up my collections for sale. I feel mixed about this. I have alot of memories with these games and will probably not ever play most of them again except for nastolgic purposes. There is alot here. Anyways, if you want you can take a look.

I feel odd about this…

I remember buying them. I remember spending loads of time learning basic Japanese just so I could save and load. I also wrote my first FAQ for Gunnm: Martian Memory (see I have been around for a damn long time ^_^;) out of this lot. I really went through everything and if it had less than a 10% chance of getting played again it went into this pile.

One day I may re-evalute my games and do this again, who knows.

Progression

This is going to be my first real entry, the last I used as my Bio basically.

Well I got probably about 2 hours in last night for Pop’n. I decided to see exactly what I cannot complete of the songs yet. I went through free training and took on a few songs that I had either 1) not played yet, or 2) had not beat last time I played them. My list is currently down to 8:

ENKA - Remix*
Special Ending 2*
Des - REGGAE*
01 Punk
Surf Rock
Miracle
Pump
Classic 4

* - At a higher level than practice will complete. I will need to learn new skills for these.

That is not a whole lot. There are 5 songs that I have not opened yet, but I have no idea how/where to open them. I should look over the FAQ and see how to open them with codes. I am pretty sure they are just EX versions or long versions of currently open songs. So out of a total of 97 songs I can complete 84. Not bad at all in under a month.

Actually after checking back my Gaming Journal says that I started to play 9 line mode on the 7th. So after about 14 days of practice I can beat 84 songs. Ha! I impress myself.

Where am I left? Well I have many routes to take. I can keep advancing and go onto Hyper. If I take this route I may be cheating myself. I cannot get over 75K on most songs and not more than 85K on any. I could go back and learn the songs that I really like and try to get the 95K+ on them, which will most likely take a while. I have only fully comboed one song in 9-line (Radio - Bitter Sweet Samba) it was really cool to do so I may pursue this route.

I also have not really tried Expert mode. This would really go hand in hand with the scoring principle. The only difference is that I just need to not get any “bad” notes, where in scoring I need to get “fever” or “cool” notes. I am thinking that this will probably be the next course of action for me.

My wife, Sara, has taken up 9-line mode over the past few days. She is making really quick progress. She can beat a level 11 song already. I should mention that she has never played a rhythm game before although they have interested her. She gets so damn furious with me when all I try to do is help her. I don’t get it. If she screws up she gets this venomous tone with me when I hand out tips for improvement. Ahh F’ it. She just needs to learn how to work a rotation properly so that I can play too. It is no fun sitting on the couch for an hour watching her freetrain that 80’s song.

(LiveJournal 2004) An opening

Well here it is. My avatar of myself has been floating around the net for a while. Since about 1999 I have been wandering digitally around - snooping for more info on video games usually - and have had a Gaming Journal for about a year and will probably keep it. It seems very mechanical there. I will mainly use this to mirror my gaming thoughts from there when necessary. I will use this for a more personal touch.

I am usually in a good mood, yet today I will just state that I am interested to find out if this Live Journal thing is for me.

A bit about me. I read a fair amount and I play a lot of video games. Lately I have been playing lots of Pop’n Music. I am decent, but nothing great. I also play a fair amount of shmups (Shoot ‘em Ups). Part of my gaming hobby includes building arcade sticks and the like.

I am also just becoming spiritual. I have startted to read the Bible [capitalized because these types have a thing for that]. It may come up every once in a while.

So here I am. Not quite sure how this thing works, but it feels like it may be like a community. Feel free to post what you want while I try to figure out how things work for a bit.
