My theatre got Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence! Wow, I am like heading out to see it now. I really only expect it to be a special effects show off film because that is what I have heard, but!!!! this will be the first Japanese anime I have seen in theatres! Normally I either miss the big ones (Ghibli stuff that is only in for like 1 effin week) or it just never makes it to where I am at. Schweet!

Also I have been playing butt-loads of Castlevania- Symphony of the Night. I compltly frogot that I bought this like 3 years ago and never finished it. Took me a while to get back in the groove, but now I can turn into a bat, so that crap I could not get to is now being gotten!

I watch most of the Lunar Eclipse last night. I also am having quite the shitty day. Althought I have been here the longest and know the most about my job I am the last person to get asked. :rolleyes: Logical to me.

Well I put in Pop’n 8 today just to see if my fear was founded in something.

Well there are 2 songs where I know where I am having problems and can’t seem to pass them because of it. Both are Light 7 songs:

Get On Beat (Wild Style): The 32nd note scratches. No matter how fast I do them my bar will drop to 2% almost everytime. It really pisses me off. I am only decent at the rest of the song, but if I could just get those horrible scratches down I would be able to squeak a win in.

MAX 300: There is a part with 8th? 16th? notes about 4/5th the way through the song on the #5 key. I can almost get my bar back after it, but always come up at about 60%. I can great/just great the rest of the song, but that is at a point that just about kills me. I can score a high B on the song, but because there is so much of that where my bar goes down below 20% with out enought song afterwards to bring it up to 80%.

I have probably played both of these songs over 20 times each and that is way more than most other songs. I just dread the 7 Key versions of them.

EDIT: I am going to change up my layout as it seems a little bland. If anyone knows how to make one of those static backgrounds (the ones that stay not matter how much you scroll up or down) PLEASE let me know. I think they might be called splash screens but I am probably wrong.

Well I could not play Pop’n tonight for some reason. I wanted to, but I was… scared? Perhaps. I don’t know why. Ever since I beat Oi Punk 0 I have been kind of weary of just not performing up to that ability. So I just popped in Beatmania IIDX 6th style.

I still have like 3? songs on Light7 I can’t beat. It kind of blows that I can’t beat them. There are only like … shit 5? … 6* songs I can’t beat on 7 Key, everything else lower has fallen. It was great I was a killer tonight. Don’t know what really happen but almost nothing put up a fight (except dissolve). I don’t remember which ones, but there were 2 78% songs which pissed me right off. I also beat my second 7* song Route 80s. It went down on my second try.

KONAMI: I don’t know what you were smoking when you placed the 7 Key version of The Theme of Denjin J as a 6* song, but I want some. It aparently really fucks up your perceptions of reality.

Well, the Kana is not only difficult it is, well, difficult. It is irritating me that the only kana I can recognise is あ… Well it could be worse, I could know none of them. Does anyone know how I can type in Japanese on a PC that I cannot install a language pack to?

I can’t even think of a title right now for this entry. I have done a little research on magazines. Well it looks like The Gamer’s Quarter will be a perminent E-Zine. I probably should not have opened my mouth about stupid things I did not research, now I have to go on the forum and tell everyone. I also will have to go and tell everyone who has not started their articles that I need something. meh.

I will learn Japanese. I think that I have all the right tools to do so. Random’s post on bemanistyle got a bug up my ass or something about this. I need to find some Manga for kids that is still in japanese. bla…

I went to a haunted house on sat. This is the first time that Sara has made it through a haunted house without crying in … well ever.

For some unknown reason I played Viewtiful Joe for the first time since the week after it came out. I started a new game and managed to get further than I had when I played last. I only played for a few hours. I was supprised at how much I remembered for the boss patterns. This game does not hold a candle to MegaMan’s boss patterns.

Yea, so my mission for tonight is to patch up some drama between my wife and out neighbor. I think this is going a bit far as no one is perfect and some are just further than others from perfect.

I played a bit of ddr last night. Ummm yea… couple more 8 footers down.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

City of God: After finishing it I am left only seeing it as a movie just shy of epic. There was so much that was great about this movie and the cinematography and direction was only part of it. You get so immersed in the world of Rio De Jeniro in this film and you are submerged in the city itself it is wonderful. The characters felt real (yea, it helped it was based on a true story), and there were many points were the tension was so thick you could feel it in your chest. There was one problem with this movie though, the subtitles. At first I did not notice it, but about halfway through they stopped subtitiling everything, or I just started to notice it then. I am pretty sure that they did it so that it was easy to read, but I would rather have the option to read everything. 3.5 out of 4 stars.

In real life I am ummm yea.

I found out yesterday that Japanese classes are not offered over the summer. I think that I will find out what I have to do to start the class next semester… I don’t know if I can take classes during the day.

My wife today is turning down her admittance into nursing school to get in January for a fall admission. The lady on the phone gave her crap for being in the top like 1% of applicants and turning down early admittance.

I played DDR for the first time in a while last night. I passed Kick the Can heavy. DDR is not really challenging once you have the stamina… I am finding myself getting bored with it.

As a gamer I believe there are things that we all need to admit to. After reading a certain side-bar I realized that I am not alone. Well to an extent anyways. I have never beat Super Mario Bros. I have seen it beaten, but that was never really why I played. I think I just grew up with a different mind set for completion that others. I was always trying to see how far I could get with just one life. I would time myself to see how quick I could beat a level. Try to max out my “flag jump” points at the end of the level. I was usually spent by the time I got to the last castle.

So does this mean that I never finished the game? Well yea, I guess it does. Most of the times when I “finish” a game it gets put away and never played again. I don’t like never playing certain games again. Perhaps I don’t finish them on purpose.

The only RPG I have ever finished is FFVII… yea. I have started and gotten 40+ hours into certain ones. I have even started Chrono Trigger 3 times. I have just never finished one aside from FFVII. I wouldn’t have finished that one either had it not been for my roommate in college.

I really don’t even buy RPGs anymore. I sunk over 200 hours in Morrowind. Why? I never had to finish it. I got about 60 hours into Dragon Warrior 7. Hell, I never finished Pokemon Yellow.

I do this with books too. Certain books will hit their climax and take forever to wind down. I will occasionally stop reading after the climax in fear that perhaps I won’t like how things tie up.

I may have more confessions that I can’t think of right now.
