I just beat the last few remaining L7 songs that I had not beaten: Stoic, GoB: Wild Style, The Safari. GoB:WS was the hardest. I also beat QQQ which is more of a feat than the L7 kind. I remember clearly about 3 weeks ago thinking “Now that is a 7 Star song. Fuck that!” It is those kinds of things that I really like about Bemani.

I was informed that it was ok for me to purchase a Nintendo DS today. I just looked up on Best Buy’s website and it appears to be sold out… so I will just go and see if they have in at the store. I hope it is in. edit: Play-Asia just 100% confirmed that the DS is region free all the way down to a JP and US Picto-Chat communicating together! Exciting!!

Finishing Master’s mode on 7th Style was not that hard, well at least in L7 mode. Abyss-THR is, meh at best. None the less it was fun to do. I ended with 194% of my bar. I guess I saved to many easy songs for the end.

The coffee is horrible this morning. I don’t really want to be at work today. I have not really “worked” since Wed. around noon. I have not really updated since then. I have beat quite a few more 7* songs, and am working towards completing masters mode (65/89). L7 is pretty easy now that I have Stoic done.

I guess that I am depressed. I have to do a shitload of work by tomorrow because I procrastinated.

I will probably stay late then go home and sleep.

I finished up Kenshin this weekend, then restarded and finished Berserk too.

Wow, what a strange Bemani day. I got off of work early and all that jazz so from about 1:30 - 5:30 I played Pop’n. I have found out that either a) 10’s timing is off or b) I lost alot of Pop’n skills :( I can no longer beat KyoGeki [h] for some strange reason. Also I can only beat a couple of level 30 and higher songs… very strange.

Then at about 7 I decided to play IIDX since my wife is steam cleaning the carpets. Well, I don’t know what happen –I cannot belive that cleaning and cardboard modding my controller did this, I really don’t think it is the case– but I just beat the shit outta some 7* songs:

Star Dream
Strong Jaeger

Also the first song I played tonight was Dancer, just to see if I could AA it, and I thought that I was playing like shit, but low and behold, +23 EX points for the AA… WTF? Then I get an A on V l7 which is like … my nemesis. What a odd night.

SO … movies

Samurai Fiction: What a really cool movie. The art and direction of it was just great. It is a very light-hearted drama that is almost a comedy. It is filmed mostly in black and white with some color for effect. The plot is really clean and the acting is quite good. It is very original in many ways and has a nice soundtrack. There were quite a few continuity errors in the movie, but not enough to deter from the overall enjoyment. The action was… not so great, but that was luckily not the good points of the film. I am probably the last person to see this flick, as it came out in 1998, but if I am not you should try to track this down. I plan on buying this one. 3 out of 4 stars.

There was also a preview for Pistol Opera and it looks pretty good. That is now on my netflix list :)

Well, I just got done with my modding of the keys. I just used a thin box (not hard like a shoe box so I am sure it will compress overtime, but I can re-do it if there is a problem) and my timing is… slightly better at best. The real bonus is that I can now do really quick key presses! WOW, LAB went from: “OMG fuking impossible!” to: “Wow that is difficult” which is quite different. Anyways, stuff like the ending of V L7 and FoOL 7Key went from pain in the ass to almost full combo with bad timing. That was the best. But damn those keys are sensitive. Anyways I bet it has to do with the fortune cookie I got with dinner:

Well yesterday sucked, bad, for work purposes.

I decided to go home and play some Bemani to get out the anger. I found out that I suck at Pop’n when angry. It could also be that I have started to focus on score. Anyways, I played like 5 hours of IIDX last night. I got a few more AA’s and a bunch of A’s. I probably plated Dancer (OMG great song!) like 12 times… no AA. I can get like 802 EX points (in fact that is what I got twice in a row), which is 10 EX points from a AA. Blah, it feels like a wall.

I cannot seem to AAA anything. There is someone that does not want me to have it. I think that I figured out part of it is my keys need to be modded as I am not consecutive with them. I will try to mod them tonight and I hope that works. Perhaps I will break into the AA/AAA range more often. Perhaps I just suck at scoring… (;_;)

This Saturday is the Bemani thing. Common you know you want to come. You know you’re not doing anything and you really want to play more IIDX 8th Style and Pop’n Music 10. If you are reading this than that means you’re on my friends list, if you’re on my friends list YOU ARE INVITED and you better come.

I can probably pick some of you up if you’re no more than like a 30 min drive away, I got’s the room in my car. Let me know if you need a ride.

YAY!

I am going to be fickle about my old “new” goals and change them. I am going to aim for score. I want to get 90K for all level 28 and lower songs in Pop’n (hopefully get a few 100K’s too) and I want to get everything through 5* L7 and 7Key in IIDX up to at least an A, and start getting some AAA’s. That is all.

IIDX is officially the second game that I am ranked in a Dan position. VF4:Evo is the other, but you have to be stupid to not rank in a Dan position. I never moved above like… 9th Kyu for Go.

Anyways, last night I re-soldered my controller (this is the 3rd time) for the Pop’n ASC. This time I used a 1st party Sony controller. It did the trick and it also feels a little smoother to use than a cheap 3rd party one.

IIDX 8th style is such a great mix. It really feels like IIDX hits its maturity point around 7th and 8th is its more mature outing. Everything else just seems like Konami was putzing around waiting for the right combo and they got it with 8th. I am a bit disapointed if 9th is as bad as most people make it out too and the timing does suck.

Well I still have fleas, but we found were they are comming from. The neighbors house if infested with them. I ran through their house –they are out of town until after Thanksgiving so we are feeding their fish and checking their mail– and looked down… over 5 fleas on me. My wife was standing in there for about a min looking in their cabinet and she had dozens on her and it felt like she was being attacked by fire ants.

So I played a bunch of Pop’n… then my controller fully died. I don’t know what from so I am just going to re-wire and solder a new controller.

8th style and Pop’n 10 has some really good songs. Gabba is now my fav Pop’n song.
