Ok, well it is inevitable. I will be getting a cell phone.

I need recommendations, and especially from people who have used their phones at my house. What companies do you recommend and what are the pros and cons of each. I may decided to use my phone mainly as an away from PC AIM service which would make Sprint the smart choice, but they have shit phones and none with a full keypad. I also need to be able to check emails on it. Which again points at sprint. But due to pricing I may just go with Cingular as I would get 300 more min a month for the same price.

Help me out I have never purchased a cellphone before, and don’t like them. So I am not sure on all the details to look for. T-Mobile would be nice if they did not have a shitty coverage area and Sprint has a horrid choice of usable phones.

I watched The Last Emperor last night and was really impressed by the quality of it all. It is quite the tragedy of life that a man, born into such greatness, had to live. I felt like a jerk afterwards for some reason. The movie was a bizarre experience. It was all spoken in English, but the fact that English was not most of the actors first language it felt very forced. In effect the film ended up feeling even more foreign than it would have using subtitles.

Pacing a film for 210 min is very difficult, and especially for a drama. I have seen 2 hour ventures fail that had more grand a scale than The Last Emperor. It also felt very raw at times, and I mean that in the best possible way. I could not help but be captured in the film from start to end.

While I hate to say it, The Last Emperor beats out Kundun as my favorite small Asian boy takes over empire tragedy.

I think I can say that a good amount of it comes from Bernardo Bertolucci, the director. Who the hell is this guy. He has a list of film credits and I have only heard of one other. It seems like he hit on something with The Last Emperor but can’t replicate it as he is not as renown a man. He managed to make us see things just as they should, never questioning scope, always believing.

As some of you may know I have not ranted about a film in a while. This film came in the mail as one of Ebert’s 4 star picks. So far I have recognized most of his 4 star picks as good, if not excellent, but most I would not have given 4 starts (over a 3 at least). I would defiantly give this film 4 stars. If you do want to see it I can’t imagine any of the film being cut out, let alone over an hour, so get the extended version.

I just got back from seeing Kung Fu Hustle. Great movie. I will more than likely be picking it up. I was just messing around with my camera (which is shit) and took a picture of some things I picked up at B&N before the movie.

Cut carrots, green onions, shitake
Pluck fresh cilantro
Add Udon to water with flavor pack
Add carrots
Boil 2-3 min.
Add egg and mix
Remove from heat
Add green onions, shitake, cilantro
Stir and enjoy!

HalCali - Tandem just came up on my iPod. Damn its infectious rhythms!

So I have been reading Wuthering Heights and playing Ridge Racer. I finished all the Pro Circuit races the other night and have a few EX races under my belt. I wish I had more time to play. Wuthering Heights is becoming more easy to read the more of it I read. It is actually good. If anyone wants some Wurther Heights punk rawk gmailed to them give me your address and it shall be done!

I am at work, and should be working. I see the pile right here next to me saying “Type me into the computer.” WELL FUCK YOU PAPER PILE, I can’t concentrate. I can read through some guy spying on area 51* and about 3 forums. My head is swimming with a million things that I “need” to do, but I just want to fit in time to play Earthbound (or Mother 2 for you pretensions bastard). Not that I have even started the game, but I want to. It sits on my game shelf staring at me.

I also installed Stepmania on my laptop on Sat. night. I have the full 1st – 8th mix song pack thingy. So, yes I have almost every DDR song ever put together… and there is still only a handful of decent to good stuff. I would like to thank those people who said that the Radio Shack PS->USB converter was good. It was not, as I can’t actually use my DDR pad on it. But if anyone wants to come over, soon I will have the equivalent of a DDR Extreme cabinet in my living room. If anyone knows of any means to get other song packs, drop me a line here.

I would like to tip my hat to for recommending Wurthering Heights. Well not really, considering that I don’t have time to read it. Honestly it is not horrible yet. I really dislike reading novels written before 1900, I know I am not fully appreciating the book as I spend ½ the time reading figuring out what the hell they are saying in the dialect. This one is not too bad though. The prospect of being able to interpret the book in my own manner (the author died shortly after publishing it) was really welcoming.

I also ruined Sara’s Birthday… I don’t want to get into other than saying that I feel like shit for doing it. I was just the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back, but I still feel like shit.

I also recently ran across a short story I wrote about 3 years back. Some H.P. Lovecraft/Arkham fiction. If anyone is seriously interested I can put it up here.

Yea, I think I am going to see if I can get 100% on Seiklus. I so-o can’t fucking concentrate.

*Which is actually pretty cool even if I don’t really believe in that large of a cover up anymore.

My PSP survived its first fall last night. I pluged it in to charge, set it up on my DVD rack (about 4 feet off the ground) turned around and fucking snagged the cord with my thumb. All I could do was turn back around quickly and wince. I knew, just knew, it was done for. I turned on the light to check for large scratches… none, ok. I then turned it on. . . *phew* everything seems ok. I will test it again tonight to make sure though.

Also if any one is good with torrents, let me know. I am looking to get an entire set of Genesis ROMs torrent. I don’t want to deal with DLing them individually.
