Power, Power Everywhere, but not on my block

So, I made it to St. Louis no problem. Well, ok, I ran into a few problems, but I still made it here late Sunday night. On Monday I went with my wife to buy a few things for the house and ended up with a new HDTV. Yeah, I know…

Anyways, So I spent the rest of Monday attempting to get my internet working at home which caused some problems with my normal column… and which I never managed to get fixed. So Tuesday rolled around and I decided to get the TV and the internet working. I messed with them all day and then sometime in the after noon I could not get the damn TV figured out at all I resigned to the fact that I just needed to call technical support.

While I was on the phone with technical support the power went out and when I went outside I noticed that there was a huge storm coming through. Dust, dirt, leaves, and debris were getting kicked up all over the place and blown at high speeds towards me.

The power came back on for about an hour Thursday morning from about 6am to 7am. My wife was up and had to go to school. I thought that she was joking with me… but it was true. I went back to sleep happy that things could get back to normal and I could enjoy my vacation. When I woke up around 10 am it was out and I found out that it was barely on.

I am going mildly insane here. This is the first chance I have had to use the internet since the power went out. I THOUGHT I GOT AWAY FROM THIS SHIT BY MOVING AWAY FROM A HURRICANE ZONE!

So… yes I am attempting to keep my self from going insane. I slept for most of the day yesterday, and was only up for about 6 hours total. 460,000 people are in the same situation, so when ever I try to go to a wi-fi hotspot all the power outlets are being used, so I can’t use my laptop. This is honestly the first time I have gotten a chance.

Anyways, I have a bunch of other things I need to do while I actually have the internet so I apologize for not reading/responding to other people’s journals.

A Scanner Darkly was shockingly faithful to the original book. I highly recommend it if you are a fan, and I can say that I recommend it if you like good movies.

Berserk Vol. 12 was a disappointment. There were a good 4 chapters of filler and the story was only moderately progressed. Now I have to wait 3 more months for the next volume. This is really the first volume that I have felt this way about. I mean, it was still good, it just feels like there was only a couple chapters of progress made over an entire volume.

The Maxx is still good, even after all these years. I know that I never finished the comics while they were out, but I also know that I made it most of the way. I just finished up volume 3 last night and still remember a good 90% of it.

Tank Girl is a movie that is sort of a guilty pleasure for me. Watching it I know it should be a “bad movie” but I just can’t hate it. In fact, I terribly enjoy it. I watched it again the other night and it is still as bad good as I remember it.
